What are the Symptoms of CF?

People with CF have a variety of symptoms including:

  • Very salty-tasting skin
  • Constant coughing and mucus production
  • Wheezing and/or shortness of breath
  • Frequent lung infections
  • Poor weight gain/growth
  • Stool and bowl issues
  • Clubbed fingers
  • Polyp growth in the nose and sinuses

Although these are the most common symptoms of a Cystic Fibrosis patient, they seem to vary from person to person due to the thousands of different mutations of the CF gene.
